NOVEMBER FAVOURITES

So we've finally reached the last month of the year and the countdown to Christmas has officially begun, which means it's now totally acceptable to listen to Christmas songs and cover everything in fairy lights. It also means my final monthly favourites post of the year!

Just a few things this month, most of which are rediscoveries (a testament to just how many unnecessary beauty purchases I make).

First is the Rituals Fortune Scrub - I tweeted about this earlier in November after spotting it as December's free gift in Marie Claire (RRP £10). It smells beautiful, more precisely of sweet orange and cedar which I find has that luxurious spa type scent to it that I love for bath products. I've been using it twice a week and moisturising after to help keep my skin feeling its best in the cooler weather. It doesn't feel abrasive or scratchy and the cream helps keep the skin feeling moisturised.

Next up, the L'OrĂ©al Elvive Smooth & Polish Aqua Serum. For whatever reason I stopped using this in my haircare routine up until earlier in November. I usually allow my air to air dry for as long as possible, then apply this (about 2 pumps) from root to tip. My hair is quite fine and as a result, I tend to end up with a lot of unruly wispy hairs that I can never seem to control, however using this serum has proved a relatively effective weapon in the struggle against flyaways. The formula is very light and non-sticky, so leaves no visible residue in the hair - great for use on dry hair as well (no icky greasy look).

For my skin this month I've gotten back into using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel. Whilst I only have the very teeny one here, this is a product I've been using for years and used to be the only moisturiser I used until about a year ago (mostly because of the price). I use the gel formula as opposed to the lotion; the gel is meant for oilier skin types, however having used both I much prefer this one. It has a very lightweight feel despite being extremely moisturising, making it a great day and night moisturiser. I feel as though my makeup stays on better with this, never sliding all over my face or leaving me looking greasy.

A lot of beauty bloggers have talked about the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum before, and I think it's a great low-end foundation particularly for those with dry skin. It has a light to medium coverage, which is perfect for me as an everyday foundation, and certainly has a dewy finish as opposed to greasy. I always feel as though I'm having a good skin day with this foundation as it brightens the skin and blends very evenly making it so easy to wear.

Along side that, I've been adding a touch of the Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener to my cheekbones and brow bones. There's a very subtle shimmer to it that makes a noticeable difference to the skin without looking glittery and dramatic. It's a very lightweight formula as well, meaning you only need the slightest bit and it blends seamlessly.

Finally a little product I Instagrammed earlier in November. This is one of Zara's rollerball perfumes (in Wild Orchid). I believe it was around £3.99 so very affordable but beautifully scented. I bought one of these last year and loved the simplicity of it - as it's so inexpensive I'm not afraid to chuck it into my makeup bag or clutch if I'm going out, and as it's so small it's no hassle to take. Considering the size, the scent is actually quite powerful, though not overwhelming. These would also definitely make cute stocking fillers/small gifts for Christmas.

What were some of your November favourites? Let me know in the comments!
